Just for the record. Finally next version of Sfw SSM is finished. With it's maps autodownloader comes amazing function for map designers that I was waitin for at least 3 years. Function that helps designer to patch his map or fix it without blocking players while they try to enter the server with old version of map on their side. From now they will have their old version replaced with new one while entering the server unless admin won't set it this way. So finally we have solved this problem with Zi and it was placed in this version. Zi has just coded very easy way for admins to decide what version should be forced to download and if old version on players PC has or hasn't be replaced. Looks like new era for mapping has just started. Finally more freedom for even small changes to old finished maps - and even more for creating many new ones. Exactly the way I always wanted - with open possibility to finish maps new alpha maps -any time later. Because from now - new version will be always able to replace the old one - right on players side. No custom removing and asking friends to remove old one before downloading new one will be required anymore. All will work automatically. What more to say - Lets start mapping again - I have at least 6 maps prepared this year  In this version of Client (7.2) - also second option of installer was prepared today. For Origin Crysis users. Because during the tests that I've done last month onf 3 computers - I've discovered that basic Sfw Client had problems with Origin version of Crysis on some PCs (at least on my 2 of 3 of my machines). During the tests - I've also found the only one, easy way to solve this problem and after consulting with Zi we have decided to place 2 installers. So now we have 2 different versions of Sfw Client. First for owners of DVD Crysis and Second one for the owners of Origin Crysis. I hope it will help more players to play MP in the future. ... |
